Bookmarks kept piling up across browsers, profiles and devices, and the ones that mattered were always the hardest to find. So I built a calm place to save them, sort them and come back to them.
Bloomy is a marker for your digital journey: signposts that guide you back to the places worth remembering. It started as a small experiment around one question: what would a bookmark manager feel like if it never asked for your attention?
The answer was a quiet list, a handful of keyboard shortcuts and a rule that the app never moves things between profiles behind your back. Everything else grew from there.
How it came together
- Oct 6
The engine
A metadata service that reads any page like a browser tab would, a Postgres store, live deltas and a Chrome extension that signs in with a single click.
- Oct 15
Profiles
Work, personal, side projects: each profile is its own world, and each device syncs only the ones you pick.
- Oct 20
The interface
A shared component library, a Storybook, a mascot and a calmer list. The app was rebuilt on top of it in a single day.
What it holds on to
- Calm by default One profile on screen, search hidden until you ask for it.
- Nothing is final⌘Z Every move and deletion can be undone.
- Your browser stays the source Chrome folders and the app stay in step, both ways.
- Previews you can trust Titles, icons and images come from one service, never from guesswork.
